The National Elder Law Foundation (NELF) – the only organization approved by the American Bar Association to offer certification in the area of elder law, has announced that Teresa K. Bowman, Esq., of Sarasota has successfully completed its examination leading to such certification. Certification in elder law, one of the fastest growing fields in the legal profession, will provide a measure of security to the public that the attorney has an in-depth working knowledge of the legal issues that impact the elderly.

I am pleased to announce that I have joined the firm of McLin Burnsed, based in Leesburg and in The Villages Community, as an attorney of counsel. McLin Burnsed has maintained a presence in the Leesburg and Villages area for over 45 years and are expanding their practice to include Elder Law. I am thrilled to be heading up the newly created practice area and will provide support and guidance to the attorneys eager to provide the residents in those communities with advice on long term care planning, Medicaid planning, veteran’s benefits and special needs planning.
An of counsel attorney is not a member of the firm in that I will not be a partner or an associate. I will maintain my own practice but will have the opportunity to help the attorneys of McLin Burnsed develop an elder law practice that provides the same level of service I am proud to offer my clients.
I am excited about this opportunity which allows me to use my skills as an elder law attorney and my skills as a teacher.
